My chemical burns itch.

Her caustic butterfly wings
Acid on the wind
Airborne toxicity

Ammonia and Peter Pan
Medicine for a bullet wound
Take it sip by sip
Drip by drip

Bleach on a doll's skin
Cracked fingernails
Loose hairs and bird's nests
Faded eye sockets

Aspirin dreams
Cradle rocking
Warning label toilet paper

Teddybear carnage
Snow in the trashcan
Nicotine-stained fur

My chemical burns itch.

I can honestly say this is one of the odder things I have written.

I had the phrase "caustic butterfly wings" in my head today and needed to do something with it, and it was going to be some beautiful thing about this pure girl being harsh and acidic blahblahblah. I don't know. In any case, it wasn't happening. So more of less, I just started writing a bunch of phrases based around chemicals and tried rearranging them into... something.... Bah. Humbug.

I do have something in mind message-wise, but I want to see if anyone can hit in on the head. If no one can, I might restructure this little nonsense piece. So if you'd like to leave feedback and you have a theory you'd like to offer, please do.
